          For only a moment she listened but then… then he spoke about dying and she almost interrupted him. And even if his following words made her heart beat frantically in her chest, the fact that she couldn’t lose him occupied her mind.

                    ❝You are not gonna die,❞ was all she said, while she took that one step towards him again. ❝I won’t let that happen!❞ Ella was clearly fighting with herself inside of her but eventually one side of her seemed to win.

          ❝Would you still hate me if all of this already is true?❞

“Well, I’ve put my ass on the line  for  a
 while now,  it’s  only  right  that  I’d  die
 sometime soon. If it’s not by a bullet in
 my chest it’ll be something to  do  with
 life I chose to live, risky missions.”

       Garrus went silent, hearing Ella’s tone change to a worrisome shake. He and she both knew that their lives was always at risk every day they woke up and did the things they did. Of course, they didn’t like the idea of dying any time soon but it was what they signed up for. Garrus would try his damnedest to survive every mission they encountered but, somehow there was something telling him, there won’t be anymore get-away cards, he wouldn’t cheat death much longer. 

“Already true?” He repeated.
